PLUS: What you need to know about ChatGPT Shared Projects and Claude Memory

Hi AInauts,

Welcome to the latest edition of your favorite newsletter!

Today, once again, it's all about practical use cases. From building browser extensions and clever memory hacks to the latest team features for ChatGPT and crazy AI side hustles—with tips and tricks you can implement right away.

Let's go, here's what we've got for you:

🚀 Browser extensions with AI? It's easier than you think!

We still remember our first attempts at programming chatting a browser extension with GPT 3.5... Instead of a sense of achievement, it was pure frustration, and we failed miserably.

But that's ancient history! With ChatGPT Codex, Claude Code, Gemini App Studio, or even Custom GPTs and Claude Skills, you can now build your own browser extensions in minutes. No hosting, database, or even coding required.

It's perfect for anyone who's always wanted to build their own little app.

Here's how it works:

  1. Prompt idea: First, create a specification in the chatbot of your choice for what the extension should do. No idea? Just get inspiration from others.

  2. Generate code: Of course, you can continue directly in the chatbot after specifying your requirements. However, we recommend that you go one step further and use Claude Code Web or ChatGPT Codex to have the entire project created for you.

  3. Test locally: Simply download the extension, activate developer mode in your browser, drag the folder over, and voilà—your extension is up and running.

  4. If there are errors: copy the error message and have it fixed. Important: always refresh—or remove the extension and reactivate it.

If you only want to use the extension for yourself, then that's it. Congratulations! If you want others to enjoy it too, it will take a few more clicks.

Publishing is also easy via the Google Developer Dashboard.

  1. All you need is an account, screenshot, description, and justification for the permissions used ("Why does this extension need tabs?").

  2. The screenshot must be exactly 1280x800 pixels (Canva can help you with this). And to justify the permissions, simply let Perplexity Comet or ChatGPT Atlas fill in the fields automatically!

  1. Then wait: the extension usually goes live within a day or two.

  2. And while we're at it: of course, you can also have the data recorded in a GitHub repository to ensure versioning, etc.

Here are a few simple examples from the AInauten workshop...

We use this from time to time to solve very specific problems. Here are a few very simple extensions that we have built in recent weeks:

Of course, you can also create highly complex apps with browser extensions. However, it is advisable to start with simple topics and then gradually expand. Start small, think big! ... and feel free to share your extensions with us.

🚦 Memory Magic: How to synchronize Claude & ChatGPT effortlessly

Claude finally brings true memory for all paying customers! This allows you to permanently save and retrieve projects, workflows, and personal preferences. Great, we've been waiting for this.

Claude also creates its own brain for each project. Sensitive information doesn't get mixed up, and context confusion is a thing of the past. You control what the model should retain and can selectively turn memory on or off. This means you finally have full control over your context!

Quick Fact: Incognito chat without memory is also possible, of course—just click the ghost icon and everything runs without leaving any traces.

Import hack: How to get ChatGPT memory to Claude—and vice versa

It sounds nerdy, but it's super practical: you can export your ChatGPT memory and import it directly into Claude. The process is straightforward once you've activated the memories:

  • Go to Settings in ChatGPT and copy the data under Personalization > Memory. Paste it into Claude under Settings > Memory.

  • Or you can just do it via chat! With ChatGPT or Gemini, you say: “Write out your memories of me verbatim, exactly as they appear in your memory. Output in Markdown.”

  • At Claude's, you copy that and say: “Incorporate these memories from ChatGPT into your memory.”

  • It is recommended that you then say: "Show me all your memories," so that you can make any changes or additions via chat (you cannot edit the memories directly in the settings, only delete them). Claude apparently only has 30 slots and therefore decides autonomously what is recorded.

💭 Shared Projects turns ChatGPT into a project platform

It sounds boring, but it's also super practical!

Shared Projects put an end to working alone. ChatGPT becomes truly team-oriented with this new feature—available now for all users.

Teams, freelancers, or students can use it to work together in a chat, share files, set custom instructions, and branch chats. Although there are no full-fledged group chats yet, the direction is clear.

The aim is to turn ChatGPT into a shared workspace. Here, too, each project has its own memory, ensuring a clear separation between topics, customers, or initiatives.

What you can now do with Shared Projects:

  • Collaborative writing: Create texts, posts, or scripts as a team—with a consistent style and tone—directly in the chat.

  • Separate memory for each project: No more chaos! Clients, topics, or campaigns remain neatly separated.

  • Share files: Upload transcripts, data, or briefings. Everyone authorized in the project can use them.

  • Uniform rules: Custom instructions on style, format, and sources ensure consistent results.

  • Work faster: Brainstorming, fine-tuning, and approval all take place in the same space—no need to switch tools.

P.S.: ... the only thing missing now is the option to move custom GPT chats to projects as well—we can always hope and dream 😁

But the really exciting question is: Will ChatGPT become the next social network?

OpenAI is quietly expanding its chatbot into a communication hub. New leaks also reveal that ChatGPT will soon feature profiles, direct messages, and followers.

This strongly suggests a social layer. ChatGPT could soon become not only your workspace, but also your social network. With the launch of Sora, OpenAI has already successfully launched an AI social network as an experimental platform, which even made it to number one in mobile app downloads.

In addition, OpenAI boss Sam Altman is also heavily involved in the World project, which has set itself no less a goal than to become "the real human network for identity, finance, and community for every person"—with its own biometric identity verification, digital coin, apps, and more.

Whether by chance or as a strategic trial balloon, ChatGPT is becoming increasingly personal, connected, and interactive. It is no longer just your workplace, but your digital space where work, exchange, and identity merge. More to come …

😁 AI Fun: Uber drivers are now becoming AI side hustlers

Uber is now giving its drivers in the US the opportunity to earn extra money on the side by completing digital tasks... Sure, if you're waiting for the next passenger anyway, why not secure AI's world domination at the same time? That's multitasking for you!

From a strategic point of view, this is a smart move by Uber before robot taxis take over. It remains to be seen what drivers think about it...

You made it to the end—thanks for reading! We’ll be back soon with even more updates.
