But now... ChatGPT has MCP support, and we think that's a real game changer (a term that AI likes to use, so we only use it sparingly = we mean it)! We've been waiting a long time for this, so we're all the more excited..
We’ve (finally) added full support for MCP tools in ChatGPT.
In developer mode, developers can create connectors and use them in chat for write actions (not just search/fetch). Update Jira tickets, trigger Zapier workflows, or combine connectors for complex automations.

The little word "finally" in OpenAI's announcement speaks volumes. It is an open admission that they were not the pioneers here, but rather reacted to pressure from the community and the lead taken by their competitors, above all Anthropic with Claude. But when a giant like OpenAI follows suit, it often does so with a force that changes the entire market.
MCP in a nutshell: The USB adapter for the AI world
A brief explanation of why we're so excited: Imagine being able to connect virtually ANY service, database, or tool to ChatGPT. No programming, no APIs, no headaches. That's exactly what MCP makes possible!
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard for connecting AI models with external tools.erbinden. Wie ein universeller Adapter für AI-Systeme, vergleichbar mit einem USB-Anschluss, an den du alle möglichen Geräte anschließen kannst.
This means that ChatGPT can not only generate output, but also act directly. A "question-answer system" thus becomes an active player in the tech stack that can use database queries, API calls, external tools, etc.
ChatGPT thus transforms from a chatbot into a connector for all your systems!
How to set up access to MCP in ChatGPT
To use MCP, you must have a paid subscription and activate Developer Mode:
Open Settings → Settings → Connectors → Advanced.
Enable Developer Mode.
Add your own connectors – enter the URL, set up authentication, and you're done.
Currently, this is only available in the web version of ChatGPT.

Possible use cases for MCP
MCP turns prompts into real processes. Our tip: Start small. Connect a tool that you use frequently. Begin with the standard integrations and feel the difference. After that, you'll want more, guaranteed. ... and if you use Zapier, you can connect to over 8,000 apps directly via ChatGPT!
But as I said, that's just the appetizer. Here are a few ideas on how to proceed:
Content Autopilot: Research trends, create blog posts in your language and publish them directly, generate social media posts, schedule them in Hootsuite, and update the Notion calendar.
Marketing & Sales: New leads from Google Sheets land in the CRM, a HubSpot follow-up is sent automatically, and status updates appear directly in the chat.
Support automation: Customer requests refund via Gmail, Stripe refund is triggered, message is sent to customer via ticket system, note is added in Shopify.
Multi-agent setups: ChatGPT conducts the conversation and calls on specialized agents such as Claude, Perplexity, or its own microservices to supplement the research or analysis.
Caution: Safety & pitfalls when using MCP
Of course, that much power also requires clear guidelines. OpenAI itself says it: Powerful, but dangerous.
A manipulated input could perform unwanted actions, or malicious MCPs could steal information. MCPs are not perfect. Bugs, limitations, sloppy programming, and unexpected behavior are real; write actions could destroy data!
Whenever possible, use official MCP servers, only grant the rights that are truly necessary, and always confirm actions manually. Companies also need role rights, limits, and approval flows.
It didn't take long for a simple attack to crack the access to the email system!

Our take: MCP is the superpower behind ChatGPT and similar technologies.
MCP in ChatGPT is not just nice to have, it turns your run-of-the-mill chatbot into a real active helper. As is so often the case, the hurdle here is not the technology, but the fact that we humans are slow to change our habitual processes.
So: click here now and connect an app that is important to you!
This is the step from gimmick to real transformation. Every new MCP server makes the ecosystem more valuable for everyone. This also has strategic significance for companies. Employees need fewer clicks, fewer tools, and less switching. This leads to increased productivity.
"We are testing an AI tool" becomes "We are integrating AI into our processes." And the interoperability of the standard means that one connector works for ChatGPT, Claude, and others.
The MCP train is just picking up speed. Those who start now will gain a competitive advantage and ride the first wave of the next AI generation.
🔥 How to create apps with Replit's Agent 3
To be honest, Vibe Coding is almost a little addictive...
We have at least a handful of small vibegecoded apps and browser extensions that support us in our daily business (or simply "just for fun" to see what's possible).
To this end, we naturally test all kinds of tools across the board, from Genspark towards Lovable, Bolt, Jules, Windsurf, Emergent, Lindy, etc.
And of course, we also use Replit, which is pretty much the OG of vibe coding tools!
Following the recently completed financing round, the startup now has $250 million in fresh cash in the bank, with a valuation of $3 billion.
Well-timed, Replit Agent 3 was released a few days ago.
What can Replit Agent 3 do, and what do you need to be aware of?
This new agent promises up to 200 minutes of autonomous coding sessions, automated app testing, and agents & automations for ongoing updates.
An effort-based billing method using checkpoints is used—so you pay according to complexity instead of a flat fee.
"10x more autonomous, 3x faster, 10x cheaper than computer use" is the official marketing line. This means you can quickly build an MVP on autopilot and spend less time testing it yourself.
Whether it really is cheaper remains to be seen... In our tests, we, or rather the agent, quickly burned through $40! That's why it's important to set budgets and alerts.

In other words: less hand-holding and ping-pong playing, more autonomy and autopilot. We hope for the best, because after a Replit agent recently deleted a production database, we're keen to take a closer look.
Our practical test: Build an MCP directory
We wanted to test whether this promise would be kept in practice. We entered a super simple prompt and ran the agent without specifying any further details.
The task for today: build an MCP server directory!

The agent gets started and implements quite a lot on its own. The sticking points were more related to integration with Replit's own tech stack ("Where can I view this?", "No, the link doesn't work," etc.). However, after a few inquiries, a functional directory was produced.
However, we were unable to publish it directly on our domain via Replit. In addition, the database used left something to be desired, as many of the listed MCP servers referred to non-existent websites.
From Agent 3 over to Genspark and off to the web!
What now? We pushed the current version of Replit to GitHub, then went over to Genspark, connected the app there via GitHub, and let them coach us through the process of putting it online. No sooner said than done—and 60 minutes later, our directory was live!
Now all that was missing was a clean database. Google Gemini and ChatGPT weren't particularly helpful in this regard... But Chinese newcomer Kimi found a dataset that lists many MCPs. We had this integrated directly via Genspark. (Alternatively, we would have launched Firecrawl next).
Agent 3.0 built a solid foundation, while Kimi found the right data source. Genspark brought it all together and published it via Cloudflare.
Agent 3 definitely has potential—plus a few teething problems. But even these will soon disappear. And if prices continue to fall as before, we should be able to build apps for little money with Replit in the coming months.
Here you will find our mini-project—and hopefully one or two MCP servers that you can connect to in ChatGPT.
🧭 AI Fun: These "illegal" life hacks are really good
Finally, here are two threads on X that have brought some fascinating life hacks to light. Sometimes a little extreme, but definitely creative. If you want to try it yourself, you can use this prompt or our Nauti GPT:
Give me a life hack so good it feels ILLEGAL!
