š Googles Big Push in AI video: NotebookLM, Vids & Veo
Google is getting serious and has launched several new features that make video production accessible to everyone. From simple office presentations to German edutainment videos to cinema-quality clips, everything is possible.
NotebookLM videos now available in 80+ languages
Last week, we reported in detail on the most important NotebookLM updates, especially the video overviews. These can now finally be created in over 80 languages.
This lets you turn your content into a bite-sized, digestible format you can use both internally and externally. Is it perfect? No. But is it still pretty impressive? Definitely!
Bonus tip: If you want graphics to be included in the video, create a Google Doc with your content and add it as a source in NotebookLM. Itās also worth putting some effort into your prompts!
Google Vidsāput in a presentation, get out a video...and more!
The Google Vids tool is now available to all users. It offers simple features for creating and editing videosāfor example, image to video, AI avatars, voice-overs, voice-to-text, video editing, etc.
New: You can now edit uploaded videos in your Google Drive directly in Google Vids (if you don't have it in your account yet, the tool is currently being rolled out gradually to all users).
You will then receive suggestions for trimming, can add text overlays, add music, integrate AI avatars, or generate suitable clips with Image-to-Video.

In our tests, we were unable to generate German voices, and recording our own voiceovers for the slides did not always work.
The bugs are still annoying, but they should be fixed soon. And then there will be practical use cases for all Google users to turn Vids from a presentation into a crisp video in no time at all! More details here - and tutorials here.
Google Veo 3 - Create Hollywood-style clips
The Google Veo 3 model isn't new, but we feel that many people are still unaware of its capabilities. So let's be clear: you can produce professional-quality branding videos, product clips, entertainment content, or even cinema-quality trailers. All you need is a great prompt and a bit of imagination!
Veo 3 is available directly in Gemini, in AI Studio, or on virtually all Media Generation platformsāin 4K quality and with sound!
It is an AI film studio for brands, storytellers, and creators who value creative quality that looks extremely realistic. To get started, simply select a prompt from the gallery and customize it.
Bonus tip: You can also first create a suitable image using Google's new Nano Banana model (note the prompting tips!) and then animate it.
I really like this Duolingo promo made with Veo 3.
I think the concept could be adapted for other apps and work perfectly as a TikTok or Instagram ad.

š¤ ChatGPT: Tasks + Agent = Gmail Summary
Let's move on to a really powerful feature in ChatGPT (currently only available for paid accounts). In addition to normal scheduled tasks, it is now also possible to schedule tasks using agent mode, even in combination with app connectors. We think this is pretty cool, especially for recurring tasks!
What does that mean? Here is a concrete example:
Connect the Gmail Connector here and start a new chat.
Select Agent Mode and Gmail Connector - Enter prompt - Go!

Then click on "Schedule" in the results and select when and how often the task should run. You might need to tweak your prompt!

ā ļø Important: Depending on your plan, your agent runs are limitedāit's better to run 1-2 per week instead of dailyāsee chatgpt.com/schedules.
Pro tip: The ChatGPT Gmail connector canāt send emails autonomously as an agent, but hereās a workaround: create a simple Google form at forms.new and insert your link in the prompt. Then specify in the form settings that you want to receive an email for each new entry š.

Here is an example prompt for summarizing newsletter emails:
Note: Adjust the two links to the form (***).
You are the world's best online researcher, hunting for clever insights, relevant updates, and unique stories.
RULES: Use bullets for clarity, keeping content brief and entertaining. Submit everything in Markdown-format through the form, act autonomously, and do not ask the user questions under any circumstances!
1. Use the Gmail connector (access provided) to automatically search all emails from the past 3 days.
2. Extract only actionable or noteworthy AI-related content: tips, tools, research, launches, events, news, and trends.
3. Filter out noise (marketing or irrelevant updates), remove duplicates; focus on genuinely insightful materials and organize it into clear, labeled topic clusters, each with a concise, engaging headline.
4. VERY IMPORTANT: Do never prompt, inform, or interact with the user during execution. Always autonomously submit the summarized content in Markdown format to https://forms.gle/***
5. Rigorously review and resolve any issues before finalizing and submitting the form; do not ask the user for input. You MUST SUBMIT the form https://forms.gle/*** to complete the task!

š§ ChatGPT Projects: How to enable autonomous memory
Another update for everyone working with projects (only for paid ChatGPT accounts). ChatGPT projects now have their own memoryāfinally, more focus and less chaos!
This long-awaited feature makes ChatGPT significantly more useful for real workflows.
Until now: You have a project, collect ideas, build prompts, write texts... and with every new project chat, ChatGPT has no idea what you've already worked out in other project chats. Annoying!
New: With Project Memory, not only are general project data (uploaded files, custom instructions for the project) available, but also other chats in the same project.
When creating a new project, simply activate "Project-only" memory, otherwise the global memory will interfere. This way, the project will only remember its own chats, files, and instructions.

The new Project Memory offers several advantages:
This ensures that the model uses only the project knowledge and not your general memory, which may contain completely different topics. And vice versa, so that the project does not "contaminate" your general memory.
This feature is only available for new projects (unfortunately only available for paid versions) ā but you can move existing chats to a new project at any time.
Our recommendation: Set up separate projects for customers, marketing campaigns, sensitive topics, or other ongoing activities, and equip them with relevant files and custom instructions. This will reduce chaos and improve results. The proof is in the pudding!
š° OpenAI Updates: Short and sweet
The ChatGPT Release Notes provide a good overview of what else is happening at ChatGPT.
But first, the answer to the question: Which AI apps do people really use?
The findings of the a16z mid-year report are clear: ChatGPT remains the top dog among AI apps.
But Google is catching up! Gemini ranks #2 behind ChatGPT in apps, Google AI Studio makes it into the top 10, and NotebookLM ranks #13 in web apps. And there's still plenty of room for improvement.
Here are a few short and sweet news nuggets:
Use the GPT-5 Prompt Optimizerāa clear bookmark recommendation.
We look forward to ChatGPT soon chatting away at 2x Voice Speed!
And developers, take note: there are updates to Codexāall details here.
We have saved a real highlight for last:
gpt-realtime and Realtime API Updates make voice interactions simple and affordable. This allows anyone to build reliable voice assistants for productive use!
This is perfect for companies that finally want to replace their old IVR phone menus with a modern solution, or want to integrate it directly into their own apps.
Important tips on how to prompt correctly can be found in the Realtime Prompting Guide.
We made it! But no need to be sad. The AInauts will be back soon, with new stuff for you.
