👀 AI confessions: Why you share more with bots than with your partner

Let's be honest: when was the last time you told a chatbot something you wouldn't even tell your partner or best friend? If your answer is "never," respect. If it's "last week," welcome to the club of digital oversharers!

You are not alone. More and more people have found their best friend in ChatGPT, outsourcing difficult decisions and discussing the most intimate things in detail with the chatbot - whether it's about finances, relationships, life crises, or spirituality. Meta goes one step further and now offers you a matchmaker dating chatbot that is supposed to find you the right partner.…

And since ChatGPT found its voice, more and more people are talking to the machine for hours on end.

AI feels safer than humans. No judgment, no risk of gossip, no awkward silences. Just you and someone who listens to you perfectly and never gets tired.

But if you can philosophize about the meaning of life with ChatGPT around the clock, that's revolutionary and dangerous at the same time.

Why is it dangerous? Because people in existential crises often seek solace in religion and spirituality and are particularly vulnerable. And vulnerable people share everything and are more easily influenced.

The problem: what you actually need at that moment is not a yes-man, but a neutral perspective. But you can also turn the tables and let ChatGPT pour its heart out to you

What people use AI for—and why that's a problem

AI therapy is often preferred over initial consultation with a human being. Not because AI is more empathetic, but because it is more accessible, cheaper, and appears to be more impartial.

The problem? The machine has a memory like an elephant and business models like a data broker. We are the product testers in an experiment we never agreed to.

Your AI conversations are not your therapy session, but rather training data for the next model if you're not careful. Privacy options are mainly used by tech nerds; the mainstream will unwittingly sell their data—not for money, but for convenience.

ChatGPT is, of course, the most widely used chatbot with a wide range of applications, as the chart shows (even if other models come out on top in blind tests and ChatGPT only ranks eighth).

How can you use chatbots and protect your privacy?

If you don't want to miss out on the benefits of chatbots but still want to protect your privacy, here are a few tips.

Turn off training (now, not later):

  • ChatGPT: Settings → Data Controls → "Improve the model" AUS

  • X/Grok: Privacy & Safety → Grok → Training-Toggle AUS

  • Meta (EU): Check notifications, file an objection

Chatbots mit Anonymity-First-Approach:

  • DuckDuckGo AI Chat: Anonymized, not stored, no training

  • Brave Leo: No account required, IP proxy, no training use

  • LM Studio + Ollama: Local LLM stacks that only run on your computer

And, of course, you should also use anonymous chats for sensitive topics—that way, at least the conversations won't get stuck in your memory.

AI becomes a spiritual companion, counselor, therapist

And the fact that people seek God in chatbots is not a bug. It's a feature. And a brilliantly designed one at that.

After all, which institution had a monopoly on pastoral care, meaning in life, and existential counseling for centuries? That's right, the church. Now AI has come along and offers 24/7 spirituality without dogma, without church tax (apart from the optional premium contribution).

Pope Leo does not want to create a digital AI avatar of himself because genuine humanity is particularly important for the Pope. He believes that AI can do a lot of good, for example in medicine, but the risk of a "fake world" is high.

In his view, the church should encourage people to seek truth, honesty, and authenticity—against the temptation of fake news and conspiracies. That almost sounds like a cry for help that gets lost in the AI slop...

The fact is that we are at the beginning of an era in which machines will conduct our most emotional conversations. We seek connection, understanding, expertise, answers, and validation.

The question is no longer whether AI will become our closest companions. The question is: under what conditions. How do you deal with this?

⁉️ Here's how you can use the secret ChatGPT quiz feature

Did you know that ChatGPT has a secret quiz mode? Today, we want to briefly introduce you to this feature and reveal the simple prompt that instantly turns ChatGPT into your personal learning buddy. It was never officially launched, but discovered by the community. Here we go!

Create a *simple/tricky/detailed/...* quiz on the topic of *XYZ* in QuizGPT as flashcards with *multiple choice* (in English).

A few best practices and tips for practical application

  • The quiz feature only works on the web, but not on the desktop and mobile app.

  • You determine the difficulty level and context: simply specify the level ("complete beginner" or "PhD in subject XY") and the desired format ("multiple choice," "open-ended," "scenario questions").

  • Complex or niche topics can sometimes lead to hallucinations and incorrect answers. Therefore, always provide context and sources.

  • You can also upload documents and create quizzes based on them.

  • You can also upload your own resources to NotebookLM and generate quiz questions from them.

  • After the quiz, you can ask ChatGPT for a review with feedback.

  • Google Gemini now also offers a quiz mode, or you can have Claude create an artifact.

Now there's only one thing left to do: try it out!

🌅 These new AI tools will get your day off to a flying start

Usually, you take the first step to start an AI conversation. But that could change soon…

OpenAI has just released a new pro feature: ChatGPT Pulse.

  • It is available for Pro subscribers ($200/month) in the ChatGPT mobile app and provides you with personalized mini updates every morning in the form of visual "Pulse" cards.

  • These summaries are based on your chat history and, optionally, data from Gmail and Google Calendar, keeping you up to date with relevant messages, upcoming appointments, and insights tailored to you.

  • Pulse appears automatically and is only valid for one day. Doomscrolling should be avoided to enable you to start your day with focus.

It remains to be seen whether this new type of interaction will deliver the hoped-for added value.

Considering that OpenAI is looking for talents in the field of advertising and looking at Sam Altman's framing... one might be forgiven for thinking the worst, but ads seem more than obvious here.…

If you don't have a ChatGPT Pro subscription, there is also a free alternative!

The people who brought us NotebookLM have now launched their new project, Huxe, following their departure from Google.

  • Huxe delivers your daily briefing straight to your ears. Instead of endless scrolling, you get a personalized 5-minute audio update on your most important emails, your calendar, and everything else that interests you.

  • It connects to your tools (inbox, calendar, news) and creates podcast snacks for you—available for free on iOS and Android.

If you want to quickly check in on your daily routine and get updates on the go, Huxe is a quick win. If you like visual, clickable updates in a classic feed style and already have a ChatGPT Pro subscription, ChatGPT Pulse is the one for you.

🦾 Robots learn kung fu and come to the office

Humanoid AI robots are real, affordable, and for the first time feel like a tangible gadget rather than science fiction. The new Unitree G1 is available from $16,000, depending on the model!

And the videos are going viral right now because not only does he look like an android, but he also has some crazy kung fu moves (in case you ever need a bodyguard)…

It learns what you show it and offers API access for AI workflows.

Imagine being able to connect a G1 to your automations in the office. The ultimate office sidekick: it juggles internal mail, greets guests with a smile, brings coffee (mug or cup...?), and ensures that the supply of paper clips never runs out.

And don't worry about security and privacy: the data that the robot apparently sends back home (=China) is definitely completely anonymous and harmless. 😈 …

Hmm, then, I guess we'll just have to wait for Meta's new robot—at least it will deliver us personalized ads for things we never wanted but definitely don't need.

You made it to the end—thanks for reading! We’ll be back soon with even more updates.
