💥 Claude Sonnet 3.7: When you should use it

Of course, we have to get on board with the latest update from Anthropic (and yes, of course we are also very excited about the release of ChatGPTs 4.5 - we’ll cover it next week in detail).

The makers of Claude have presented an update to their language model, and with Claude Sonnet 3.7, Anthropic is now also entering the world of "reasoning models".

According to Anthropic, this marks the start of a new phase in which the models are moving from pure assistants to experts who perform tasks that previously took hours to complete.

As always, the new model is of course better than others in many benchmarks. Let's take a look at what the main difference is - but above all, when and how you can use it.

According to Anthropic, Sonnet 3.7 is the first "hybrid reasoning" model. It therefore combines a classic language model, which responds quickly, with a reasoning model that can think deeply.

Analogous to the human brain, it can either respond quickly or think deeply. And all in one architecture.

For us as users, this means that we no longer have to switch back and forth between modes or even change models - as it is currently still the case with ChatGPT.

You also have the option of activating an "extended thinking mode". Here, thinking is intensified, as is the case with other models - and you can follow the thought process.

Claude does the following tasks particularly well:

If you've been reading us for a while, you know that we absolutely love Claude. We use it much more than ChatGPT, for example.

There are many reasons, but the main reason for us as marketers is: Claude writes by far the best marketing texts. Whether for social media, websites, emails etc.

It reads most naturally. It captures human psychology at its best.

The second important area in which Claude dominates: Code and programming

The old Sonnet 3.5 model was already considered the best model when it comes to programming. And according to initial tests, 3.7 surpasses it once again by far!

The most important coding tools such as Cursor, Bolt, Replit etc. rely on Anthropic models. Even if you're not planning to do any major coding now, it's incredible what Claude can already help us normal people with!

Let's finish todays edition with a short use case that should make the new Claude Sonnet 3.7 very useful for many of us.

The model is so good at programming that it creates extremely good websites with a super simple prompt.

This is practical if, for example:

• you want to build a cool website from a text that you already have (or that the AI has written) or

• you think a website is cool and would like to recreate it

In theory, this was already possible before. However, the quality of the websites is completely different with Sonnet 3.7.

We would even go so far as to say that it's really usable for the first time!

Create a cool website from a text

As an example, we have taken just the text of one of our websites with the aim of building a cool landing page from it.

We deliberately kept the prompt super simple and then simply copied in the text. And what was the result? See for yourself!

Sonnet has not only built a cool site, but has also already added the text!

Rebuild a website that you like

Unfortunately, Claude can only process screenshots of 800 × 800. Otherwise, you could simply screenshot a web page and upload it.

(Yes, other models can do this, but the resulting websites are poor. 😉)

We must therefore take the HTML code of the page that is to be recreated. For the simple use case, we simply get the source code directly in the browser.

For more complex cases, you can scrape content.

Then to Claude and boom ... we've already turned a website into a template that we can use anywhere at any time. Pretty cool, isn't it?
