Hello AInauts,

Welcome to the latest issue of your favorite newsletter! Today we have something especially for entrepreneurs and teams.

And if you've ever had to analyze a lot of data or create charts from Excel files (that are actually correct), read to the end.

That's what we've got for you today:

  • πŸ“² Deutsche Telekom launches new AI cell phone

  • πŸ” Data protection-compliant "ChatGPT" for companies in 5 minutes

  • πŸ“Š Data Science Agent: Free data analysis with AI

Here we go!

πŸ“² Deutsche Telekom launches new AI cell phone

Let's start with news about Deutsche Telekom's popular share.

Following the magnificent 2024 financial year (11.2 billion profit on 115.7 billion revenue), the largest dividend payout in the company's history was recently announced.

Congratulations if you hold shares.

Intoxicated by the strong growth, Deutsche Telekom must have thought that they could certainly shake up a "simple market without much competition".

In other words: "Let's release a smartphone ..."

Our first impulse was: This is such a *** bad idea!

... but the longer we think about it, the more interesting we find it.

Here are the details: Deutsche Telekom is cooperating with Perplexity

The mobile phone is being developed in partnership with Perplexity and will therefore have a Perplexity AI assistant.

And it can be called up directly from the lock screen. Ready for use at any time.

In addition to answering a wide range of questions, the Perplexity Assistant will also be able to do things like order a cab, book a restaurant or even go shopping.

By the way, Perplexity has just equipped the app with a voice assistant, is planning its own browser ("Comet") and has launched a new helpful bot on X, @askperplexity.

And all this conveniently without any additional apps, and also possible via voice control.

More and more other AI partners will also be added. Google Cloud AI for real-time translation, ElevenLabs for podcast creation and Picsart for avatar creation (Picsart? Who needs that anymore ...) have already been announced.

The device should be available before the end of the year and cost less than 1,000 bucks. And there will also be a separate Magenta AI app in which the features are available. However, cross-app communication could be rather difficult.

And in our opinion, this is exactly where the opportunity lies, which is why we no longer find the idea quite so stupid.

Apple just can't seem to get the new Siri AI features to go live. Telekom's AI smartphone, on the other hand, can be set up completely fresh and act according to the motto "AI First!" without having to take the existing app ecosystem into account.

We are excited to see what it will be.

πŸ” A dedicated ChatGPT for companies (data protection compliant in just 5 minutes)

We often talk to entrepreneurs and teams in larger companies. And two years after the start of the AI wave, we are still seeing an interesting phenomenon.

Everyone uses ChatGPT, Claude or something similar in some form. Some companies have a ChatGPT Business license for their employees, but quite a lot of employees use ChatGPT with their personal account.

(Some companies have also released Microsoft Copilot, but we haven't met anyone who likes working with it and is satisfied ... πŸ˜‰)

The reason why many companies are hesitant to provide AI chatbots for their employees: 🚨 DATA PRIVACY 🚨

Sure, this is an important issue. And that's why we're showing you an approach that is particularly relevant for teams and companies.

You can set up your own company-internal "ChatGPT" locally on your servers. If desired, even completely with local models, without connections to OpenAI and Co. And all set up in just a few minutes!

We use the Open WebUI tool for this.

The interface is similar to the chat clients of ChatGPT or LobeChat.

The most important key facts:

  • It is open source.

  • You can host it on your own servers.

  • You can use Ollama models locally in your own environment.

  • No APIs and no internet access are required.

  • You can set it up in compliance with data protection regulations.

  • Alternatively, you can connect external APIs such as OpenAI, OpenRouter etc.

The exciting thing about Open WebUI is that employees can simply create an account. The admin can assign roles and access - with very granular rights as to who can use which models, etc.

Teams can also create shared prompt databases, build assistants, add company knowledge in a database and much more.

The combination of self-hosting on any server and the use of Ollama models enables data protection-compliant use.

Set up OpenWebUI on a server in five minutes

For non-techies, by far the easiest way to set up OpenWebUI on a server is via elest.io.

Simply create an account here, select the OpenWebUI service, specify the server provider and location and off you go!

In a few minutes, the server and tool will be up and running, and the team can create accounts.

For tech-savvy folks: if you want to set up your own server with OpenWebUI and Ollama, here are the instructions.

As you can see, using AI in your company doesn't always have to be complicated.

πŸ“Š Data Science Agent: Free data analysis with AI

Let's be honest: what could be worse than analyzing data? Preparing lists. Creating diagrams. Not necessarily what most of us enjoy doing.

But we still have to do it from time to time.

The use of AI would of course be brilliant for this! But so far, the use of AI language models had to be treated with caution, as they were not always correct and sometimes simply delivered fictitious results.

However, there is a lot of movement in the market here - a lot is happening!

Google has just released their Data Science Agent. It is a simple and currently still free tool for analyzing large amounts of data and deriving insights from it.

via Google

How data analysis works with the Google Data Science Agent

Step 2: Click on Analyse Files with Gemini and upload your data.

Step 3: Ask your questions

The data scientist then draws up a plan on how to proceed. You confirm this or request adjustments, and the AI gets to work.

A few seconds later, you receive your data - in diagrams and as a summary, exactly in the form that you need it.

The first tests we have done look really great. And the best thing is that it is currently absolutely free to use.

The big advantage compared to your regular ChatGPT queries is that more complex data can be processed, and the results have a higher probability of being correct.

However, there is no harm in checking for yourself 😁 …

We made it! But no need to be sad. The AInauts will be back soon, with new stuff for you.
