PLUS: Red teaming with AI for important decisions

In partnership with

Good morning, dear AInauts,

Welcome to the latest edition of your favorite newsletter!

So far, October has been pretty much dominated by one company: OpenAI!

After writing about Sora 2 and Co., today we're taking a look at the most important updates from OpenAI Dev Day and what they mean to us.

As always, we don't have access to everything in Europe yet—but that will follow soon, which is why we are informing you today. 😉 At the end, of course, there is also a practical element for you to try out.

Here's what we have in store for you today:

  • 📲 ChatGPT gets apps and becomes even more useful

  • 🔥 A new way to build AI agents & automations

  • 💭 Prompt practice: Red teaming with AI

Let's go!

The Simplest Way to Create and Launch AI Agents and Apps

You know that AI can help you automate your work, but you just don't know how to get started.

With Lindy, you can build AI agents and apps in minutes simply by describing what you want in plain English.

→ "Create a booking platform for my business."
→ "Automate my sales outreach."
→ "Create a weekly summary about each employee's performance and send it as an email."

From inbound lead qualification to AI-powered customer support and full-blown apps, Lindy has hundreds of agents that are ready to work for you 24/7/365.

Stop doing repetitive tasks manually. Let Lindy automate workflows, save time, and grow your business

📲 ChatGPT gets apps and becomes even more useful

The OpenAI Dev Day can be divided into two main themes:

  • ChatGPT gets apps

  • Apps get ChatGPT

So let's start with the first part (even though we don't currently have access to it in Europe).

OpenAI Dev Day

The idea of making app functionalities available in ChatGPT is not new. We still remember the plugins and then the GPT Store, which we thought would be a new gold mine for developers (it wasn't).

A few months ago, the first connectors were made available, and thanks to MCP support, you can now connect many more tools and apps.

Now, OpenAI is going one step further and launching an app SDK that allows anyone to build real apps for ChatGPT.

And not just as a tool, but truly integrated into the platform. Here's the design app Canva as an example:

OpenAI Dev Day

ChatGPT retrieves information from these apps and also uses its own logins to book flights and hotels, create presentations, and much more.

To open an app, simply enter its name in the chat window.

At launch, several apps that are particularly popular in the US will go live, but Booking, Expedia, Spotify, and Canva should also be exciting for us Europeans.

Towards the end of the year, everyone should be able to submit their own app to the App Store.

Conclusion: ChatGPT aims to become the cockpit for your everyday life

You can think what you want about chatbot interfaces. The fact is that we are all spending more and more time on them.

Having all the services we use in our daily business, as well as the stores where we shop, deeply integrated into the interface is pretty cool.

We do not expect mobile apps to disappear—websites did not disappear when mobile apps began their triumphant advance.

But usage patterns will change, and a ChatGPT app will simply be another channel that companies will offer to deliver an even better customer experience.

🔥 A new way to build AI agents & automations

Let's move on to the second major theme of OpenAI Dev Day, which should be of particular interest to anyone interested in AI automation.

  • Apps get ChatGPT

For us, this is an even more exciting update. OpenAI is introducing a toolset that allows you to build AI agents and integrate them into websites, apps, etc.

They call it AgentKit.

OpenAI Dev Day

It consists of three components:

  • Agent Builder for building.

  • ChatKit as a chat user interface that is easy to integrate.

  • And evals, which can be used to improve the agents' responses.

The most exciting feature is the Agent Builder. It is no-code, which means that even non-techies like us can use it to build our own agents.

The interface is very simple. On the left side, there are a few elements (nodes) that can be assembled into a workflow.

This allows you to build sophisticated agents really quickly—not just simple custom GPTs equipped with a prompt and some knowledge.

Here, you can build entire teams of agents with different skills and procedures instead!

Once you're happy with your flow, you can publish it using OpenAI's ChatKit and embed it anywhere.

ChatKit is essentially a beautifully designed chat interface that appeals to your agents and allows you to chat with them directly.

The cool thing about it is that you not only get a nice chat interface, but you can also build widgets that are beautifully displayed in your chats! And you can embed them anywhere (on your website, etc.), which is awesome, of course.

However, we found it less cool to implement ChatKit in practice and build widgets—that turned out to be a little more difficult than expected…

We are still in the process of finding the best workflow here.

Conclusion: Are Zapier, n8n, Make & Co. done?

Many content creators on the internet are already talking about the demise of no-code automation tools...

Yes, what OpenAI has done here is pretty, pretty nice. And it will also affect some smaller tools, which will lose their raison d'être as a result.

But we don't believe at all that it will harm Zapier, n8n, Make & Co. on a large scale.

Logically, OpenAI has some limitations, such as the fact that you are initially tied to OpenAI's AI models. But many users, including us, want flexibility here.

At the same time, integrating agents is technically a bit more challenging—tools like Zapier are much easier in this regard.

Nevertheless, we will continue to experiment with it. Development in this area is progressing at an extraordinary pace!

And by the way, in addition to OpenAI, Google has launched Opal, a new no-code builder—also very exciting (VPN still required).

💭 Prompt practice: Red teaming with AI

So, after all the news and tech stuff, here's something else you can definitely use and will hopefully help you—both professionally and privately.

We definitely use this prompt technique often!

If you have important personal decisions to make or want to review strategies, ideas, etc. in a professional setting, then use a red teaming approach with your favorite AI bot!

What do we mean by that? In red teaming, AI systematically attacks your approach to find critical vulnerabilities before they become real problems.

Here is the prompt template for this:

Here is my [CONCEPT/PROCESS/STRATEGY]:
[DESCRIPTION with target group, goals, process]

RED TEAM TASK: You are [SKEPTICAL ROLE, e.g., “risk-averse CFO” / “frustrated ex-customer” / “critical investor”] looking for reasons NOT to participate.

Analyze relentlessly:

🔴 TOP 3 BREAKING POINTS
Where is the concept most likely to collapse? Why?

🟠 KILLER OBJECTIONS
What 3-5 objections are guaranteed to come up?

🟡 CREDIBILITY GAPS
What seems unrealistic or oversimplified?

⚫ WHY COMPETITION/STATUS QUO IS BETTER
What would someone cite as a reason to reject it?

📉 REALISTIC WORST-CASE SCENARIO
The 3 most likely reasons for failure?

Be specific and concrete. No politeness.

Of course, you can also use this in your private life:

  • Career change or further training

  • Moving to another city

  • Relationship decisions (e.g., moving in together)

  • Major purchases (car, real estate)

  • emigration plans

Here is another personal example:

Here's my situation: I'm considering giving up my secure job (€65k, permanent contract, relaxed team) and becoming self-employed as a [consultant/coach/freelancer]. I have €15k in savings and some initial interested parties.

My plan: resign on December 31, become self-employed full-time in January.

RED TEAM TASK: You are my critical best friend who wants to save me from making an expensive mistake.

Analyze mercilessly:

🔴 TOP 3 BREAKING POINTS
Where is my plan most likely to fail?

🟠 KILLER OBJECTIONS
What am I completely overlooking right now?

🟡 CREDIBILITY GAPS
Which assumptions are naive or unrealistic?

⚫ WHY STAYING WOULD BE BETTER
What are the rational arguments FOR the job?

📉 REALISTIC WORST-CASE SCENARIO
What happens if it doesn't work out?

Be brutally honest.

You made it to the end—thanks for reading! We’ll be back soon with even more updates.
