Let's go!

๐Ÿ™ Microsoft launches the ultimate data-mining giant?

We have to start with some recent mainstream news, because it's just too exciting: Microsoft has ushered in a new era of AI at its Build event and launched some exciting updates last week.

Let's start with the harmless update: new AI-first laptops and tablets were unveiled, which are designed to make AI applications around Copilot+ particularly fast with powerful chips.

The devices are due to go on sale mid-June. You can read all about it here and even watch it here.

They are 58 % faster than an M3 MacBook Air - which is of course extremely tempting, even for us as loyal Apple disciples.

New recall feature - the ultimate data-mining giant?

One of the most exciting new AI features is definitely the so-called Recall feature. Or to say it in simple terms: Microsoft saves everything you do on your computer. ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

The exciting thing is that this allows AI to become your ultimate assistant. It knows everything, understands the context and can help you perfectly through a direct integration with Windows.

It's exactly the kind of artificial intelligence that science fiction fans (including us) have been wanting for a long time.

How does it work? In essence, Windows constantly takes screenshots of your computer. Together with the content from the various files that the system already knows, this creates the ultimate history of you, your data and your actions on the computer.

And with all this data, the AI becomes your โ€˜perfectโ€™ Copilot!

So much for the positive aspects.

Nevertheless, it somehow feels like a Black Mirror episode and a slightly queasy feeling remains

If you are asking yourself: "So Microsoft knows everything about me?"

This should only happen locally on your computer and not in the cloud. However, you can also deactivate the feature.

The question is: Is that really the case? Will it stay that way? Data can also be hacked... It wouldn't be the first time.

Btw, Microsoft are not the first to offer something like this. We wrote about rewind.ai a year ago and have been using it ever since. The company behind it has now also launched limitless.ai, in combination with their Limitless pin. This is an audio recording device that is always with you (see our post here).

We found the statement from the Rewind CEO refreshing and are excited to see what the future holds.

As always with new technology, you probably give up a bit of privacy for convenience and cool features.

We are still waiting to see what Apple will be presenting soon (the Apple Developer Conference is scheduled for 10-14 June) and otherwise we are actually considering switching to a Microsoft PC.

After all, we want to provide you with the best AI content and if that only works via Windows in the future, then so be it...

We are already curious to see what the data protection authorities will say if companies would like to activate the recall feature on their employees' computers ...

Alright, to sum it up, the Microsoft Build event was definitely exciting, and you can check out more here:

Or if you're in a hurry, here's the 9-minute summary:

Building your own agents with Microsoft soon?

Finally, a short topic that actually deserves its own headline. However, as it is limited to the Microsoft environment and is not yet immediately available, weโ€™ll give you a short update.

Microsoft has a Copilot Studio, and with the studio you can build small AI assistants quite easily.

New skills will be available here around the end of the year, which will allow almost anyone to build AI agents quite easily.

And these are not just basic automations, but real agents that can learn, solve problems themselves and work towards a pre-defined goal.

Sounds a bit abstract? Just take a look at the video. As soon as it is available, we will test the whole thing in depth.

โœ๏ธ New update for the Claude Prompt Generator

We all know that good prompts are essential. Why? Because particularly good prompts also deliver particularly good results!

In fact, we no longer just write our prompts ourselves, but have them written and improved with the help of AI.

We have presented various tools for this in the past, and you may also be familiar with one of our favorites on Google Colab. However, this is not as easy to use as we would like it to be.

Recently, Anthropic, the creators of the Claude chatbot, updated their in-house prompt generator.

We tested it, and it really delivers great results - and is incredibly easy to use!

This is how it works:

Youโ€™ll get 5 USD credit to start with, so you don't even have to pay anything. If you only use the prompt generator, the 5 USD will probably last for months.

Step 2: Describe your task

Once you have opened the prompt generator directly from the dashboard (see above), simply enter your task.

You will then receive a very well-structured, optimized prompt in just a few seconds.

It opens in a dashboard where you can make adjustments, fill in variables and test them immediately.

Creating a Facebook ad from a one-liner thus became:

You will be writing a high-converting Facebook ad designed to drive direct response and sales for a specific product, targeting a defined audience, with a compelling offer.

First, carefully review the following product details:
<product>
{{PRODUCT}}
</product>

Next, analyze this information about the ad's intended target audience:
<audience>
{{AUDIENCE}}
</audience>

Consider this specific offer or deal that the ad will promote:
<offer>
{{OFFER}}
</offer>

Write the text for the Facebook ad inside <ad_copy> tags. Focus the ad copy on the key product benefits and features that matter most to the target audience.

Use persuasive language and proven direct response copywriting techniques to encourage clicks and conversions. Make sure to include a clear call-to-action that creates a sense of urgency and compels the reader to take immediate action.

After you've written the ad copy, provide a brief justification inside <justification> tags explaining your approach and why you believe this ad will be effective at driving sales from the target audience.

Something like this will give you much better results than the original notes on the task. If you are satisfied, you can then save the prompt and only have to fill in the variables in the future.

Have fun, and happy prompting!

โœ… Which LLM to use for which purpose?

Finally, a quick tip from one of our favorite podcasters, Lex Fridman.

We are often asked which model/tool should be used for what.

His tweet sums it up quite well:

We would add the following here:

When we analyze numbers, we still find that Claude Opus sticks to the real data much better than GPT-4o does. And this is not irrelevant, to make suer that the analyses are also correct ๐Ÿ˜Ž.

Well, that's it for today. See you in the next issue!
