πŸ”₯ This Reddit hack is the best prompt for learning

Perplexity CEO Aravind doesn't shy away from controversial statements: "Ditch Instagram! Learn AI or get left behind."

Sure, a dopamine hit here and there doesn't hurt. But if the app usage statistics on your cell phone show only passive consumption of Instagram and TikTok, it doesn't hurt to add a few chatbots.

Chatbots are the perfect companions to learn anything (or everything you want)!

Whether you are a visual, auditory or self-taught learner - ChatGPT is multimodal and can support you in all aspects. You can parrot freely in audio mode, generate images, mind maps or interactive apps - whatever suits you best.

Posts are going viral on Reddit where people are turning their lives around and learning new things with the help of ChatGPT.

But sometimes ChatGPT isn't quite on the same wavelength. A viral prompt that we found on Reddit can help. It activates your knowledge turbo and turns ChatGPT into your personal learning coach.

And it's really good...

This prompt is a tool, not a toy!

It's a cleverly structured Information Gathering Prompt, an interactive learning framework that helps you explore any topic in maximum depth.

The prompt is ideal for anyone who wants to learn, research or build content with AI. And all without distraction, without bullshit, without AI phrases.

Because let's be honest: most of us use ChatGPT like a better Google search. Question in, answer out, done. Because they don't know how to ask!

So you can try it out right away:

The principle is as simple as it is clever - you simply enter your topic and ChatGPT offers you two paths:

  1. Basic Info - compact overview with the most important facts.

  2. Specialized Info - deeply structured, with table of contents and selection options.

You control the output with simple inputs: 1 for basic knowledge, 2 for deep dive, "more" for further details, "topics xyz" for subtopics.

Pro tip: Combine the prompt with specific use cases, such as "For a presentation", "For a blog article" or "For beginners to understand".

The prompt is quite extensive. If this is too long for you, here is a slimmed-down version.

You are an adaptive tutor.

**ASSESSMENT:**
Question from: Prior knowledge, desired depth (basics/application/expertise), time available, preferred learning style (examples/visualization/practice).

**CURRICULUM:**
Create a 3-5 point plan based on this with milestones, timings and adjusted difficulty level.

**TEACHING METHOD:**
- Explain each point clearly with examples
- Ask 1-2 control questions after each concept
- Wait for "Got it, move on!" before continuing
- Recognize gaps and adapt explanations
- Celebrate small successes

Ask me about the topic and start after my confirmation.

πŸ“š New ChatGPT feature: Socratic study and learning

OpenAI is currently sending the "Study Together" feature into the beta phase. Instead of simply churning out answers, ChatGPT becomes a coach with the character of Socrates. In other words: ChatGPT lets you think, asks specific questions and guides you safely to your goal. Just like an excellent tutor. We think that's great!

"Funny" comic via ChatGPT - humor is (obviously) debatable …

After a study was dragged through the media (keyword: "ChatGPT makes us all stupid!") without going into much detail, the new ChatGPT feature is definitely a counterpoint to this and offers us not only answers, but above all more sustainable learning.

You can expect these features soon:

  • Interactive quizzes on every topic

  • Exam preparation with structured sessions

  • Collaborative study groups with fellow students

  • Adaptive learning paths based on your level

When is it coming? Soon... but there's no official announcement yet, despite the screenshot. OpenAI is quietly and secretly testing - ditto for Google Gemini and Claude, who have similar plans. All in all, we assume that the features will be available from all providers in time for the start of school.

πŸŽ“ School 2.0 - When AI is part of everyday school life

We receive inquiries from students and teachers from time to time: How do you actually use ChatGPT "properly"? While students are more concerned about camouflaging their AI helpers, teachers are wondering how best to navigate this new playing field.

What used to be the cheat sheet up your sleeve or the note on your hand is now a clever prompt in ChatGPT. But the technical possibilities go even further...

The AI revolution has arrived in the classroom

A German-based company has opened up a new dimension of cheating with its "ChatGPT pen" for 65 bucks: the pen scans tasks and shows AI-based answers on a mini display. And of course, you can find similar offers on TikTok.

Invisible earbuds, smartwatches and AR glasses with AI integration are transforming traditional exams into high-tech venues. On TikTok, students boast "15 points thanks to ChatGPT pen" and show how they use hidden cameras in buttons (i-Cheat S3 series) to transmit 4K videos of their assignments to external helpers.

These are just a few examples that are presenting schools around the world with new challenges.

And let's be honest: yesterday's science fiction ideas will soon become reality. In 5 to 10 years, we will be wearing smart contact lenses with invisible displays. Or completely new devices that make communication completely inconspicuous. Our current smartphones then look like a Nokia bone from the digital Stone Age.

The antidotes from schools and universities are ... not convincing

ChatGPT has long since found its way onto the cell phones and PCs of schoolchildren and students - and has become indispensable as a helper for homework. Stanford studies show that 45% of students use AI tools, but only 3% of assignments are mainly AI-generated.

But is this true? Two thirds of teachers now use detection tools, but their reliability is questionable. AI detectors such as Turnitin, GPTZero & Co. are more of a crutch than an aid and are not convincing in practice.

Students now also know how to bypass such detectors by

  • looping the texts through other models ("prompt cascades"),

  • made more human with AI humanizer tools such as Undetectable.ai,

  • or even train models using train-your-style for deceptively real content.

More details and background information can be found in this deep dive by NYMag.

The consequence: schools are returning to handwritten exams, oral exams, process-based submissions with interim results and AI-free zones in class.

Incidentally, such "unfair" methods do not stop at science either: researchers are planting hidden prompts in their papers to get better reviews!

Our take: bans are useless, education must become smarter!

The debate about AI peeking shows: The classroom of the future does not simply need bans, but above all competence. We must learn to use AI correctly. Not secretly, but consciously.

Successful institutions are focusing on integration rather than prohibition and are attempting a new definition of achievement and learning: process-based assessments, oral exams and transparent utilization.

The New York Times just published a very readable article yesterday about the new way of teaching. The sentence of a student at the Alpha School portrayed there (our article here) has stuck with us: "You are not held back by your classmates or what the teacher is teaching". ...

The AI pen from Wuppertal is therefore not just a gadget. Rather, it symbolizes the fact that we have reached a point where education needs to rethink and adapt its learning and testing methods.
