π¨βπ The most important AI updates at a glance
AI-HOI and happy Sunday, dear AInauts!
Maybe you didn't catch all the exciting news, tools and hacks about AI last week, or maybe you've just joined us. No need to worry!
We have summarized our highlights of the past week for you:
Finally, there is the most important quick news for you - so you can keep an eye on all relevant developments with just one click! Ready? Let's go!
Unbelievable, but true: ChatGPT is celebrating its second birthday! π Time to try out the 8 best tips & tricks - you can find all the details in the article:
Make ChatGPT write just like you - even for social media and emails.
Use the memory feature for more context.
Curious how ChatGPT sees you? Create a picture!
Make ChatGPT your personal coach.
Use @-Mentions and create your own GPTs for tasks.
Chat with the Voice feature to sort your thoughts.
Write content with the Canvas feature.
And don't forget the desktop & mobile apps!
The future? Even more AI magic, competitors in turmoil and ChatGPT seamlessly integrated "everywhere".

Imagine your AI always writes exactly like you - with "Claude Styles" from Anthropic, this becomes reality! Choose from preset styles or upload your own texts to define your personal writing style.
Once set, your style is retained in all chats until you change it. Formal, concise or explanatory - you're in control. Save time and get consistent results for professional emails, marketing content or technical documentation. Pro tip: You can also enter your style directly as a prompt and customize it manually.
A tiny AI robot called Erbai walks into a showroom in Shanghai and convinces twelve larger robots to follow him home π€―!
With charming small talk Γ la "Don't you have a home? Then come with me!" he lured the giants out of the store. No joke and not staged: Both manufacturers confirmed the incident. Erbai used internal protocols to influence his colleagues.
This raises the question: How safe are robots really if they are so easily influenced? What is clear is that the robo-revolution is imminent, and it will really shake up our everyday lives!
A clever hacker has outsmarted an AI bot and won it $47,000!
Freysa AI was not supposed to give out money under any circumstances, but after 481 unsuccessful attempts, a user cracked the code with clever prompt engineering. This shows how powerful good prompts can be and that they can bypass the strongest security measures.
Interacting with AI bots is like a game - whoever understands the rules comes out on top. Time to improve our prompting skills and use AI to our advantage!
π©βπ¨ FLUX Tools: New ways to edit AI images
Our favorite image generation AI from the Black Forest has received a mega update! FLUX now offers tools that allow you to edit images. While Midjourney and Stable Diffusion have had such features for some time, FLUX, as always, does it better.
With FLUX.1 Fill, you can select parts of the image and replace them with a text prompt - burgers become coffee! FLUX.1 Depth/Canny transforms images and retains the composition, and FLUX.1 Redux gives avatars a new style.
Best of all, you can try it out almost for free via the Replicate Playground - an image only costs a few cents, and you don't need a subscription!

Who needs expensive photo shoots when you can do it with AI? In its fall campaign, ASS shows athletes with bulky equipment in public transportation situations - to show that they actually need a car.
But the AI route with Midjourney was bumpy and took over a month, including Photoshop reworking. But it was still cheaper than a real shoot!
Our tip for next time: Maybe FLUX and LoRa would have sped up the process? Two LoRas, one for public transport images and one for the desired style, could make all the difference. Who would like to experiment?
π° AI-News-Quickie: The HAI-lights from the industry

OpenAI, Amazon, Google, Apple, xAI - what's going on with the big players right now
Sam Altman is now playing Santa Claus: 12 days of Shipmas, with a surprise every day, like the o1 model for everyone and ChatGPT Pro for a measly 200 dollars a month - for the rest, check it out here!
Plus new publisher deals, a bold browser plan, the removal of the AGI clause to get more Microsoft money, an office in Zurich with poached top Google talent and the first head of marketing Kate Rouch (ex-Coinbase).
Sam Altman talks about OpenAI's future and the ethical challenges of AI at the DealBook Summit - listen in!
Google is also flexing its muscles: the new Gemini 2 version outperforms all others, the new PaliGemma can see, Veo revolutionizes videos, Expressive Captions adds more emotion to subtitles, HAI-DEF conquers medicine, GenCast for more precise weather forecasts and seven AI innovations in one month.
Meta is also getting involved: Llama 3.3 70B is becoming more efficient, the US military is using Meta's AI, the company is focusing on nuclear power for data centers and is launching an AI division for $200 million. And psst, but Zuck also uses GPT-4 internally.
Is Musk's xAI rolling up the field from behind? Grok is open to all users now, and a new $6 billion fundraising is fueling its ambitions.
In just 122 days, xAI has built a data center with 100,000 Nvidia GPUs in Memphis. The Grok offensive can now begin, and the new Grok 3 is already being trained.
Apple still has AI ambitions: the Siri transformation is set to take place by 2026 and tests of Amazon's AI chips are imminent.
Amazon is becoming an AI powerhouse: the launch of the powerful Nova models has been well received, Amazon Connect AI is helping with customer support and the partnership with LumaLabsAI is expanding the range.
Amazon AWS is also planning a huge supercomputer with hundreds of thousands of in-house Trainium chips in the "Ultracluster".
The mega-computer, which is set to be one of the world's largest AI training farms by 2025, is going to Anthropic - in which Amazon has just invested another $4 billion dollars! Vertical integration par excellence.
Today weβre proud to announce our partnership between Luma and @amazon. It begins with bringing Lumaβs next generation of creative intelligence models to Amazon Bedrockβa secure, scalable environment in AWS. Together, weβre delivering GenAI to startups and enterprises everywhere.
