🗣️ Become an expert with NotebookLM's new AI Coach

You already know how to create an Audio Overview Podcast with NotebookLM. But since a few weeks, you can do even more: with the interactive mode you can chat directly with the hosts.

And that opens up completely new use cases! For example, you can be coached and quizzed by the hosts. This is ideal if you want to prepare for an exam or deepen your knowledge on any topic.

As usual, upload your documents to a notebook and have an audio overview generated from your materials:

The host takes on the role of a teacher/coach and starts immediately. 

It tests the expert's knowledge based on the uploaded material. It is like a quiz where follow-up questions and multiple-choice answers are also provided by the host.

And now it's getting exciting! Click on Interactive Mode and during the playback you can then click on "Join" and ask your questions (or give answers).

Learning becomes interactive and really fun! For general topics, you can of course also use ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode. The advantage of NotebookLM, however, is that the specific source data is used as study material. Give it a try!

The next evolutionary stage of AI is just around the corner and could will turn our lives completely upside down.

Yes, we are talking about the era of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) - machines that can perform any intellectual task that a human can.

Since we have been recording our intelligence using language, writing and digital technologies, we have been unconsciously preparing for the moment when AGI becomes a reality. This development is not science fiction, it is almost inevitable.

Economy in transition: New rules of the game through AGI

It is difficult to pin down exactly what AGI means. But it can be assumed that it will radically transform our economy. Traditional business models will become obsolete, while new, technology-driven approaches will emerge. Today's jobs will become redundant or can be done much more efficiently.

This also shifts the importance of your labor to capital ownership!

Sam Altman publicly ponders the effects of superintelligence, while the new government in Washington wants to deregulate - and experts such as Max Tegmark and ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt warn of the dangers.

The fact is that whoever has access to A(G)I infrastructure will be able to exert the greatest influence on society and the economy in the future. And for many, this means increasing dependence on a few powerful players...

The question we keep asking ourselves is therefore: How can we/you personally prepare for this radical change??

Here are some strategies on what you can do today to be ready for tomorrow:

1) Find the insiders and surround yourself with the right people

Do you remember the COVID-19 pandemic? The chaos, the constant changes? In times of rapid change, it is crucial to have people around you who understand what is going on and what the consequences are.

Look for experts and thought leaders who see the big picture. It's easier to navigate the AI jungle together! The AI revolution is a team sport, and lone warriors will not become champions. What you need now is a strong network that will open doors for you before others even know they exist.

2) Save smart and build a financial cushion

Understand and prepare for potential economic disruption. Companies and employees must adapt to remain competitive - while governments face the difficult challenge of creating fertile frameworks...

Countries with strong AI industries could see huge prosperity gains. The USA is at the forefront here, but allies such as the EU, the UK, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Canada could also benefit. Those with roots in these countries can surf the AI wave.

AGI could initially lead to rising wages, but will also make many jobs redundant in the long term. Maybe there will be a Universal Basic Income (UBI) - but maybe not... And then your savings could be the main source of income.

The good thing is that there will be a real boom in the next few years, and you can take advantage from it. The possibilities are endless.

3) Invest wisely and focus on future-proof investments

In times of change, traditional investment strategies are no longer sufficient. A diversified portfolio is the key to weathering financial turbulence. Therefore, consider how you can invest your money in areas that will benefit from the rise of AGI or at least remain stable.

The obvious value chain ranges from chip manufacturers to cloud providers to AI-first startups. But go deeper, and understand the game changers of tomorrow: quantum computing, neural networks, edge computing, ... these are more than just buzzwords.

4)Prepare for turbulent times and cultivate mental strength

In addition to all other global challenges, the arrival of AGI could also cause global instability. In addition to cyberattacks and new weapons, there will also be political and social tensions.

Your well-being is your most valuable asset. So prepare yourself for possible crises: You don't have to have your own bunker, but mental strength is more important than ever to deal with stress and uncertainty.

Meditation, community, sport, religion, self-help - whatever helps you to build an unshakeable mental fortress. And don't forget to build a network of like-minded people who will stick with you through thick and thin.

5) Hone your "human skills" - it’s your unfair advantage

The AI revolution raises ethical questions: Privacy vs. innovation, human agency vs. AI automation ...

But while machines are overtaking us in logical and repetitive tasks, human superpowers are becoming increasingly important. Creativity, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, personal initiative - learn and apply it! And yes, it's okay if ChatGPT is your partner for this 😀...

The fact is: these skills are crucial for the present and the future. While AI is getting better and better at analyzing data, people who can think creatively, connect emotionally and reflect critically are more in demand than ever before.

6) Become a lifelong learning hybrid professional

Pure technical expertise was in demand yesterday. Today, you need a mix of technical knowledge paired with AI skills. You need to be the translator between the old and the new world!

Theory is good, practice is better! The key? Experiment with AI tools for at least an hour a day. Yes, DAILY! It's best to start with an AI audit of your professional field: Which tasks will be automated? Where will new opportunities arise? Become a lifelong learner and invest in your personal development.

7) Think long-term and stay flexible

Even though AGI may not be imminent, we firmly believe that superintelligence is coming in the next few years. The above strategies will strengthen your position and make you more resilient and adaptable.

Technological progress does not make human joy or goals obsolete, quite the opposite. You can equip yourself to thrive in the new era!
